I feel like a chipmunk right now.

chipmunk.jpg My right cheek and jaw are swollen right now due to what I believe is an abscessed tooth.

  1. gargle with warm saltwater, grind up ibuprofin(sp) and apply it directly to the swollen area, that and go buy some extral strength anbesol, the liquid works the best but then youll need some q-tips to put it on with…

Also the ER or an urgent care can go ahead and start you on some antibiotics and pain killers most dentists wont touch an abscess untill youve at least started some antibiotics… Good luck Ive had 2 in the last 3 years and they suck…

  2. I have heard that swishing with luke warm salt water can some times help.Something about drawing out the abscess or something. I did it when I had a bothersome tooth and it helped. I hope you feel better!

  3. i hate to say this, but if it is an abcess you’d better get your ass down to emerg-that’s an infection and people have died from them. even if they don’t fix it [and don’t have a dentist on call somewhere]they could give/prescribe antibiotics to control it…

on a happier note – “Gena-talia” PRICELESS!!! and so representative.

  4. Like BigNick says, put in a call to the hospital. Dental problems suck. Best of luck getting it taken care of. As far as the 13 hour shift goes, maybe it’s time to call in sick? If your cheek’s visibly swollen, customer’s are going to know something’s up anyway.

You gotta love customers who think that they’re too special for last call to apply to them. I wonder if your ladies are at all related to the dude I had last night. I’m sure they’re cousins of some sort.

  5. I’m so sorry you had to deal with such slime, in addition to the abcess! I hope you feel better soon!

I do not fully understand the need for that much ranch. I see it a lot. It’s gross. Like they’d drink it with a straw…*shudder*

  6. Just been through this myself.. saltwater helps as does teatree oil mouthwash (someplace like whole foods, don’t ry to make your own) and gargling with diluted hydrogen peroxcide. Give the antibiotica a couple of days and they will help the pain.

  7. I’m sorry you’re feeling icky, as well.
And I have nothing but hate and rage for the people who expect you to stay open late for them. When I worked retail, once a woman came in at 5 minutes to closing and was browsing. Fine, whatever, I have no problem staying a few minutes late since I have to tidy up anyway. But 9pm (closing time) became 9:15, became 9:20, and finally I asked her if she was almost done because we were supposed to close 20 minutes earlier. I shit you not, she looked at me and said “Oh, it’s okay. My bus doesn’t come until 9:45”. Yes, because it’s all about YOU, you inconsiderate bitch!

  8. Oh Ribeye, I *literally* feel your pain! I have an absess on my wisdom teeth which are just now coming in. What helped me to get through the weekend was rinsing with Biotene at the first sign of pain, brushing my teeth immediately, rinsing again, and following all that with 4 extra strength ibuprofren. Ice packs will take down the swelling and numb the pain a little. Oh, and between doses of painkillers, try to drink milk. I know it sounds weird, but it works! I hope you feel better soon!
